About Me
Hi, my name is Shai (pronounced “shy”) and I’m here to help. My road to becoming a therapist can be described as unconventional, having spent my time before and during graduate school working in corporate leadership roles unrelated to the mental health field. Those formative professional years give me a unique perspective on how mental health can impact an individual’s performance and success in the workplace and vice versa. As a therapist, I am committed to working with women who inevitably feel trapped by the tension of career and life.
Why is it called Good Ear Counseling? As a child, I had a benign tumor in my left ear. The surgeries to remove the tumor left me functionally deaf in that ear since the age of nine. I’ve referred to my left ear as my “bad ear” and my right ear as my “good ear” ever since. So during session, I’ll need you to speak into my good ear.

LMHC, QCS, MCAP
As an RMHCI, I am under the clinical supervision of a Qualified Clinical Supervisor (QCS) while I accrue clinical hours for full licensure in the state of Florida. I work under the clinical supervision of Andrea Scott, LMHC, QCS, MCAP. Andrea was one of my professors during my Master’s program at UCF and was my clinical supervisor in my graduate student internship. During my graduate student internship, I had completed my required hours and could have ended my internship at Andrea’s site early but I knew I had found a supervisor whose exacting standards would push me to be the best version of a counselor I can be. I asked her to act as my clinical supervisor in private practice and lucky enough, she agreed. The lesson here is when you find someone who makes you a better version of yourself, don’t let them go. When I asked Andrea for a photo for this site, she sent me a picture of her cat instead.
